Pound Cake.

This is Jennifer's mom's pound cake recipe. While I have not had the opportunity to make it yet, it is obvious from the ingredients that is remarkable.

Jennifer’s Mother’s Pound Cake

2 sticks butter
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
3 cups sugar
5 large eggs
3 cups cake flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon lemon
1 cup 7-up soft drink
(No baking powder or soda or salt)

Cream butter and shortening with sugar.  Add eggs, one at a time.  Beating well after each addition!  Add vanilla and lemon flavorings.  Add 7-Up and cake flour alternately, beating well.

Bake in greased tube pan, line bottom with waxed paper, at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 10 to 15  minutes.

Note:  I use a 10 inch tube pan.  Cake can be frosted with a lemon flavored icing.  Yum, Yum!!!!!
